Principia and Principians are getting attention beyond the boundaries of our School and College campuses. Media coverage in the last few months has shined the spotlight on our talented and inspiring alumni, former faculty, and current faculty as well as several capital projects on both campuses. Alumni

Kristen Oyer (US’14, C’18) was profiled in VoyageSTL for her work as a multimedia artist and native St. Louisan. Since March 2020, Oyer has released six collections of work—ranging from digital design to abstract multimedia canvas paintings. Her latest collection, titled “The Poésie Collaboration,” was a creative partnership between Oyer and 10 selected poets from around the world. Oyer created visual art inspired by the poetic works sent to her. VoyageSTL is part of a LA-based group of magazines dedicated to promoting local artists, creatives, makers, and small businesses.

Jonathan Kidder (US’99, C’03) is the puppeteer for Busy the Bee, former First Lady Michelle Obama’s sidekick in the new Netflix series “Waffles + Mochi,” a travel/food show for children. Kidder’s character is the manager of Mrs. O’s grocery store in the series that premiered March 16.

Jacob Kohut (C’08) was going about his business as a music teacher and National Guardsman protecting the U.S. Capitol in the wake of the January 6 riot when regional and national media caught wind of him playing the flute and holding class remotely from a Humvee during breaks from his 12-hour shift.

Tricia Paoluccio (US’90, C’95) collaborated with designers from Oscar de la Renta, and her “modern pressed flowers” were the inspiration for the dress Taylor Swift wore to the Grammy Awards.

Alice Stanley (C’10) was the on-set writer (uncredited) for the new Netflix movie “Moxie.”

Current and Former Faculty

Professor Emeritus Gregory Sandford authored a new book, “Our Life behind the Berlin Wall: A Memoir for Our American Daughters.” ADVFN.com shared a synopsis.

Dr. Jeff Steele, multidisciplinary professor and coach of the College mediation team, shared insights about the College’s many successes in conflict-resolution competitions.
