Principia College Earns High Marks in 2019 National Rankings
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Principia #5 in its 2019 list of Best Value schools—a distinction reserved for national liberal arts colleges that provide the highest quality education for the lowest price. Up from #9 in last year’s Best Value list, Principia is the only Midwestern school in the top five—in the company of Williams, Pomona, Amherst, and Swarthmore Colleges.
Principia earned the #9 spot in U.S. News & World Report’s Most International category among all national liberal arts colleges. In addition, the College was #7 for Least Debt and was once again named in the U.S. News list of Best National Liberal Arts Colleges.
In other recent rankings, Principia earned a spot on the 2019 list of Midwestern colleges that The Princeton Review considers “academically outstanding and well worth consideration.” Principia was also recognized in the 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges as one of the “best and most interesting colleges” in the country, emphasizing Principia’s academic opportunities, beautiful campus, and inclusive community.
“Although we have never chased after rankings,” Principia College president Dr. Jolanda Westerhof notes, “we are pleased that Principia has garnered this recognition. It confirms the exceptional value of a Principia College education and the richness of our globally diverse community.”
