Rugby to Compete at Nationals for Fifth Time
The Principia College Thunder Chickens have earned a spot at the National Championships for an unprecedented fifth time in a row! They clinched it in mid-April when the team won the Gateway 7s Conference Tournament in Kansas City. During unseasonably chilly weather, a devoted crowd of fans watched as the team won all five of their games, stamping their ticket to the USA Rugby DII Nationals 7s Championships.
The tournament will be held in Denver, Colorado, May 18 and 19, with 12 teams competing for the title. All three games of pool play take place Friday, May 18; bracket play begins Saturday morning.
If you live near Denver or can get there mid-May, head to the games in your gold and blue to cheer for the team and tailgate with alumni and friends.
Each game is 20 minutes, and all games take place at Infinity Park.
