Getting Spring Semester Off to an Inspired Start
Students, faculty, and staff will gather in Cox Auditorium for Winter Convocation tomorrow, February 2, at 1 p.m. (CT). After officially welcoming everyone back to campus, College President Dr. Jonathan Palmer will mention a few events to look forward to during spring semester.
Among the semester’s highlights are Monitor Night Live on February 22, talks by Annenberg Scholars Kathleen Dean Moore and Susan Neiman in early March, the spring play Treasure Island March 8–10, and the annual Public Affairs Conference April 5–7.
At the heart of convocation are four talks. Junior Paige Cooley, seniors Emma Herman and Sky O’Brien, and January 2018 grad David Njau will focus on this year’s metaphysical theme: “The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 192). Each individual will share how the theme has shaped his or her experience at Principia. Senior Gabriella Burns will give the readings.
