Middle School Evening of Excellence Excels
Earlier this week, parents and visitors thronged the Middle School Center, where grade 6–8 students hosted an Evening of Excellence. Every wall, window, and table—and some of the ceiling!—showcased students’ in-depth learning and high-quality project work in all subject areas.
The evening started with an exhibition walkthrough, with parents, accompanied by their students, visiting the various subject and project stations—science, social studies, language arts, mathematics, integrated studies, Spanish. It was clear from the buzz of conversation that parents, students, and teachers were actively engaged with each other. The visitors then watched on-stage student presentations, including slides and videos about select projects and classwork.
“We loved the Middle School Evening of Excellence!” exclaims one mother. “The event provided a wonderful opportunity to see [our daughter’s] project work in many different subjects—and we enjoyed the one-on-one time as she explained each project, answered our questions, and shared her thoughts on the work.”
The slideshow below takes you on a virtual walkthrough of the evening, offering a glimpse into how our students have been developing and practicing their writing, reasoning, scientific, quantitative, creative, and collaborative skills over the fall semester.
