Kicking Off the New School Year
August 31, 2016
Officially, summer break ended August 22. But for all Principia School faculty, and for many staff and administrators as well as some Upper School student-athletes, their return to campus was at least two weeks earlier!
Hear directly from the School’s Dean of Innovation and Academics, Peter Dry, about all the progress and improvement that took place in the run-up to the new school year. Here are just a few examples:
- Brand new learning spaces, such as the IDEA Center and the Media and Communications Center
- Teachers completing graduate degrees and certifications
- Education thought-leaders and experts running on-campus workshops
- The recruitment and admission of more than 100 new students
- The rollout of the House system to build a sense of community and encourage student leadership at all levels
- Ongoing facility upgrades and renovations in the dorms and elsewhere
With a strong focus on student-centered learning and continuous improvement, Principia is poised for a great year ahead.
